Students at The Greene School learn and practice Mindfulness as part of their enrichment curriculum. Mindfulness is a practice that teaches students to be present and in the moment.
Parents report seeing the influence of this practice in their children at home—they see an increase in focus, the ability to calm oneself and ability to manage stress.
Parents were curious to learn the mindfulness techniques for themselves and were able to recently find out the secret's from The Greene School's teacher, Ms. Katie Petronio.
Ms. Petronio is the Dance, Yoga and Mindfulness educator at The Greene School and holds two yoga teaching certifications and a mindfulness certification. She says Mindfulness is most successful when everyone is on board with the learning, including the families.
