The middle grades represent the vitally important transition to adolescence as students are exploring more deeply than before the essential questions of identity, purpose, and meaning. At Greene, we extend the curriculum in the middle grades to include civic education, service learning, travel and a deeper engagement in science and mathematics, as the humanities programs grow more challenging and complex. We go beyond well-rounded to well-prepared for 21st century skill development. Coding, robotics, problem-solving, projects, inquiry-based learning and Socratic discussions enrich the program, with constant reference to the national and international standards of learning. We look forward to developing this curriculum as our school adds these grade levels.
